What influence does the wgŠÊ˜·³Ç have at a global level?

We support and advocate for the development of the chiropractic profession nationally and internationally. Through our global connections, we participate in cross-country research, conferences, policy review and teaching to shape the future of chiropractic.

As part of our vision, mission and aims for the future of chiropractic to be integral to healthcare, we support and advocate for our profession on both a local and global level. This is why we were one of the founding members of the European Chiropractors’ Union (ECU) and, subsequently, the World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC).

We believe in supporting the development of international standards of care, and contribute actively to what this should look like for our members, the wider profession and the global population.

Together with our members, we play a critical role in a wealth of international activities. This includes participating in cross-country research, presenting at global conferences, teaching and contributing to responses about global health policy.

Integrated MSK care guidelines from the World Health Organization

Notably, in in December 2023, the World Health Organisation (WHO) launched its new , which provides evidence-informed recommendations on the management and treatment of low back pain.

The Guideline was informed by cross-discipline health professionals and included chiropractors, such as the WFC’s Research Committee Chair, Dr Sidney Rubinstein, who led three of the systematic reviews informing the guideline recommendations.

The wgŠÊ˜·³Ç welcomes this new Guideline as a huge step forwards in recognising person-centred, evidence-informed MSK healthcare – this is what we and our members stand for. We look forward to continuing our work in supporting every member to put their patients first and representing them at an international level.
