The burden of MSK
We are calling for a national strategy that includes and utilises the chiropractic profession, to provide more access to care and help alleviate NHS pressures.
Our goals
The UK must address the rapidly increasing MSK health crisis. The Government has committed to additional funding, and recognised MSK as one of the six major health conditions addressed in the . However, it is clear further innovation and collaboration is needed.
We have developed aims and are taking proactive steps to help map the future of the chiropractic profession and the role we play in the healthcare arena. These include:
- Ensuring the chiropractic profession is consulted on when considering next steps for a comprehensive MSK strategy, within the Major Conditions Strategy or independently.
- That future engagement regarding MSK treatment considers both public and private sector expertise.
- That a review of the Government’s current approach to addressing the MSK crisis considers the recent guidance to member states for chronic back pain be conducted.
