How to add corporate wellbeing to your chiropractic practice

Employee wellbeing is no longer a 鈥榥ice-to-have鈥 initiative. To do so, they are investing time and money into effective employee wellbeing programmes that create healthy workplace cultures.

This means there are literally hundreds of businesses on your doorstep looking for a solution. Could your Chiropractic business support this growing need? Following the huge success of our recent wg娛樂城 Session, How to engage and enrol patients in optimal wellbeing, our speakers, , are sharing their best practise approach and how you can expand your services to meet the wellbeing needs of SME and corporate organisations in your area.

What is wellbeing?

Forbes identified employee wellbeing as the . Employee wellbeing is no longer just about physical perks like free gym memberships. Employee wellbeing now encompasses mental, physical, emotional, financial, social, and even career wellbeing.

At Wellbeing People we believe in the mental, physical, emotional and social aspects of wellbeing. Our ethos is that although optimal wellbeing is complex, it doesn鈥檛 need to be complicated to create sustainable change. Our mission is always to simplify so that we can engage and empower more people.

3 Best Practises:

  1. Wellbeing is unique, personal and subjective 鈥 This means that organisations should invest in a people-centric approach that empowers individuals to take personal responsibility for themselves.
  2. The goal isn鈥檛 to fix, it鈥檚 to create an optimal wellbeing environment for employees to thrive 鈥 We all know prevention is better than cure, since the pandemic we鈥檝e seen a shift towards longer term cultural change programmes rather than quick fix transactional perks. Many employee wellbeing initiatives start with something simple like a workshop or webinar to generate initial buy in from the whole team rather than leaders dictating what 鈥榮hould鈥 be rolled out to fix issue x or y.
  3. Leading through actions not opinions 鈥 Great Place to Work identified the #1 employee wellbeing trait of the UK鈥檚 best workplaces for wellbeing was 鈥渕anagement showing an interest in me as a person not just an employee.鈥 The problem many businesses are facing at the moment is the fact that managers are reporting burnout at a higher rate than front line employees. Engaging, then coaching the leadership and management team first is an essential ingredient to transforming an overall wellbeing culture.

What鈥檚 the solution?

Step 1 鈥 Engagement

People and organisations only change for two main reasons; inspiration or desperation. To spark inspiration the goal is to provide insights. Offering a highly engaging workshop or some form of postural or wellbeing assessment provides an opportunity to challenge outdated thinking and beliefs. This leads to insights and inspiration!

Step 2 鈥 Help them to decide

Once the insight lightbulb has been switched on 鈥 your timer starts! The quicker you can help someone go from insights to decision the better because otherwise it鈥檚 human nature to sit on the fence! Sitting on the fence from a wellbeing perspective usually means a slow decline towards desperation where the individual or organisation is likely to eventually seek out your initiative anyway!

Your role in this part of the process is to save them that mental, physical or emotional pain by helping them to make the decision whilst they are in a state of inspiration. The most effective way we鈥檝e found to do this is through the use of stories and case studies. Shine a spotlight on the people and organisations you work with, share their transformations and watch others join the movement!

Step 3 鈥 Under promise, overdeliver

Don鈥檛 tell people or organisations the transformation they鈥檒l experience 鈥 show them! By capturing data and including questionnaires in your programmes you鈥檒l be able to report back to individuals and organisations on key metrics such as:

Engagement 鈥 how many people engaged in the initiative.

Transformation 鈥 what was the change that happened as a result of the initiative.

Feedback 鈥 how do people feel about the initiative?
